NBN and Optus reported severe weather across 31/05/2026 and 01/06/20206 has caused widespread commercial power outages resulting in impact to services in Western Australia, but restorations are now gathering pace as weather begins to settle with Optus flagging full restoration of impact to their infrastructure.
NBN reports improvement with now only 1,534 services down for all providers across Fibre to the Node, Fixed Wireless, and Hybrid Fibre Coaxial technology types in the following regions:
Regional Western Australia: Capel, Collie, Cowaramup, Dunsborough, Leschenault, Harvey
Major Cities Western Australia: Armadale, Baldivis, Baldivis, Bedfordale, Belmont, Champion Lakes, Como, Duncraig, Duncraig, Gooseberry Hill, Hamilton Hill, Hovea, Mount Nasura, Mundaring, Parkerville, Rivervale, Spearwood, Walliston, Welshpool
Optus have advised that the outage impacting Optus mobile infrastructure across WA is now resolved and all services should now be operational. Please report any mobile service difficulties as normal.
NBN has advised as weather conditions are forecast to improve in the coming days, this will enable technicians to access affected sites once it is safe to do so.
